Site traffic
We keep a record of which pages are viewed and when, so we can see which explanations people find useful. That record includes the IP address and browser identification of each request, and the country and region it came from. When we analyse it we work from an irreversible identifier derived from those details, which lets us count visitors and repeat visits without needing to know who they are.
We never record anything you type into a calculator. The calculators do their arithmetic in your browser. Some of them put your figures into the page’s web address so that you can bookmark or share a result; if you open such a link, that address does reach our server as part of the request, but our logs keep only the page name and discard everything after the “?”. Either way the figures are never stored. We do not use cookies or tracking scripts, we do not build advertising profiles, and we do not sell or share this data.
